Things I´ve learned so far….

Below are some random observations I have made while in Seville, Spain. Some are good, some are great, and some I could live with out. Non-the-less, it has been an interesting learning experience so far.

*God is alive in Spain. There are pictures of his son everywhere, even though is dad is mostly ignored.

* Bra straps never pose a problem. Unlike the USA, you don´t have to wear a white bra with a white shirt. If you got èm, we know you wear a bra, no problemo.

*Spanish fruit is exotic in Switzerland.

*My Big Fat Greek Wedding is not as funny in Spanish as it is in English.

*There is very little liter on the streets

* 3 things are revered here: ice cream, pictures of Jesus´ face, and cerveza, in particular Cruzcampos

*People wear what they want and show what they want; people put themselves together creatively, but not meticulously.

*America is very, very far away.

*When I wondered where the men in my life were, they were growing big and tall in Spain. Los hombres son muy muy guapo aqui.

*The one friend I made on the street is a student from Colorado.

*Old ladies and huge trucks constantly mop and clean the streets with smelly sewage water.

*80% of movies in Spain are American.

*At 8¨:30 AM, you want to drink cafe con leche and read a book, que es loco. Everyone else is asleep. Things are closed until Sept 15th, when many Spaniards are back from vacation, and the business that are open are inconsistent, and you may be able to catch them from 11-2 or 8- whenever. What do you do when you need something and you can´t find a place that is open? You walk around for a couple hours until something is!

*Mullets are alive and well in Spain and they don´t plan on leaving anytime soon.

*You can order a cruz campos at McDonalds

*I have sweated my body weight this week.

*A warm breeze in the afternoon is as blissful as a stuffled stocking on Christmas morning.

*If you don´t wear zapadillos in the house, the bottom of your feet will be black by mid afternoon

*Flemenco dancing is harder than it looks

*The senorita fans in the touristy-areas are most-likely made in China than Sevilla.

* A gypsy fortuneteller is glad to tell you about your abundant heart and fill your palms with minty herbs until she realizes that your wallet is empty.

*You walk like you breath in Spain. If my calves are not chizled like a club, the stars will never be aligned.

*There are white butterflies in Spain.

Ok so ya’ll are so wonderful and caring that many of you have asked me to let you know how the recovery has been going. I feel wierd calling you to say, “hey! Let me tell you how I’m doing!” so here’s an exclamation into the cybervoid. God has heard all those prayers. Will you thank Him for me? I don’t think I can thank him enough since there is no such thing. I am feeling great, and a week after surgery even the doctor was amazed at my health! I am SO grateful and SO excited to get back on my feet again! They tell me I’ve had stuff wrong with Hashimotos since I was little, and now that it’s gone I feel like I have a whole new lease on life! My energy and memory is supposed to be great! More energy means more opprotunties to use it to help people! To think that in a few short months I will actually have a brain that can RECALL short-term events will drastically change my life. No more forgetting about people, or my 4-digit debit card number! I will now have the mind of a 22-year old instead of an 88-year old. It’s been a long road but a very insightful one. Thank you for your prayers and constant encouragement.
